Ethan Bortnick 2011, Day 9-13

Posted Ryan Colorado, Ethan Bortnick, Missouri

Okay, I’ll admit it, I haven’t been blogging as often as I said I would… my apologies.

So, after our stop in Burley, Idaho we continued on overnight to Denver, Colorado. We drove all night and checked into the Hyatt Regency at about 9am then after decompressing a little bit, we made our trek over to the original Chipotle (naturally) and it was just as good as could be expected!

Later that day we headed over to the venue which was a beautiful old building built in 1929. The Vice President of ReMax was at the show hanging out backstage with us and he was great and loved the show. This show was also the first one which involved a choir, they sang ‘We Are The World’ and ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’, which Ethan, Eman and I had to learn quickly and was just another time where I was severely impressed by Ethan. After the show, we went out with a couple friends to Dave and Busters for some hang time before turning in.

The next day we had the day off before our drive to Kansas City so we got some errands run with our rental car. I stopped by Best Buy to return my newly bought iPod (as had I had found my old one) and Guitar Center to get a new keyboard stand because my old one had broke. Ironically, the new keyboard stand also broke… but the company is sending me out the part that broke so I can fix it.

Monday morning we left on our long drive to Kansas City and our last drive with our driver John. Driving from 10am, we met up with Wes (the new driver/driver of our last tour) in Salina, KS around 8pm and switched all our gear and luggage and took off for the last 3 hours to Kansas City, Missouri.

Once in Missouri, we checked into our Westin Crown Center hotel and I was able to catch up with an old friend in the hotel lobby for a bit before going to sleep. The next morning, me and Eman decided to wander around the mall connected to our hotel… and it was quite a letdown. We had a delicious breakfast from Einstein Brothers Bagels and walked around a bit, then went back to the room.

Later we headed over to the venue and got setup pretty quick thanks to all the excellent hands there to help. After sound check, me and Eman walked a couple blocks to get dinner at Famous Dave’s, which was great. Then we went back to the venue and had a great show.

The next morning (today), we left the hotel at 10am and are just now pulling into Fort Wayne, Indiana for the night and tomorrow morning we head up the rest of the way to Detroit.
