Well we just finished up our 2 days in beautiful new mexico. It has been fun and I hope to come back someday.
The first day started by getting to LAX at 430 in the morning for our 630 flight. We landed in Albuquerque around lunch time and hit up the Golden Corral buffet and it was the best buffet chain I’ve been to (read: decent). Then we had an hour drive to Laguna for our first show.
We arrived and had some time to nap before having to start setting up and whatnot.
The show went pretty well despite everything going wrong. We couldn’t find me a working second keyboard, the sound system was having all sorts of trouble, the drummer was struggling to stay seated on his seat and the trumpet player was throwing up mid-set. But we made it work.
After the show we quickly packed up and left as we had a 3 hour drive to Farmington.
We got to Farmington around 1am and got settled in our very comfortable digs. Half the band got to stay in some nice rental houses.
Fortunately the next day was not an early start, we got picked up around noon for lunch and hung out til 3 before heading over to the park we were playing at a half mile away.
The second show went much better and our new sound guy is doing a GREAT job. The sunset (and the entire day) was beautiful. We then we back to our hosts’ home for a home cooked meal and visiting time.
We got a good nights sleep and are now at the airport ready to fly home.
